ArrowpointConstruction & Remodeling

Ultraviolet light fades color and breaks down the paint film. Once paint fails, the wood and siding beneath it are exposed to water, and rot follows. Repainting on time is far cheaper than replacing what the paint was protecting.

The difference between a paint job that lasts and one that peels in two years is almost entirely preparation. We wash, scrape, repair, caulk and prime before any finish coat goes on, and we use quality exterior paint made for our climate.

What we do

Full exterior repaints

Siding, trim, fascia, soffits, doors and shutters, finished as one consistent job.

Thorough preparation

Washing, scraping loose paint, sanding, caulking open joints and priming bare wood before the finish coats.

Wood and siding repair

Rotted trim and damaged boards are replaced before painting. Painting over rot only hides it.

  • Color that has faded, especially on south and west walls
  • A chalky residue when you rub the surface
  • Paint that is peeling, cracking or bubbling
  • Bare wood showing on trim, fascia or window sills
  • Cracked or missing caulk around windows and doors

Good to know

Exterior Painting questions, answered

How often should a house be repainted in North Texas?

Quality paint over well-prepared siding typically lasts 7 to 10 years. South and west walls and wood trim that take direct sun usually need attention sooner.

Do you repair rotted wood before painting?

Yes. Because we also do siding and trim work, we replace damaged boards as part of the same project rather than painting over them.

What is the best time of year to paint?

Spring and fall are ideal, but exterior painting is possible most of the year here. We work around rain, and in summer we plan the day so paint is not applied to surfaces that are too hot.

Does my HOA need to approve the color?

Many neighborhoods in Rockwall, Heath and Fate require approval for exterior color changes. Check before work begins. We can give you the color and product information your application needs.
